At the end of march the crossborder Interreg SI-AT project “Castle Road” was terminated successfully. The project’s goal was the internationalization of the castle road and the addition of 9 new members in Slovenia. To strengthen the network and the cooperation between the now 37 partners we fulfilled two different tasks during the last months:
Catalogue Cultural Offers
To kick-off the international cooperation we visited all 37 members several times personally. We held extensive interviews with owners, trustees and administrators and got to know the organizations from roof to cellar. A lot of educational moments, vast knowledge and one or the other surprise marked those visits. The talks were followed by networking events – several of those held online. The aim of all this was the creation of a sales catalogue that targets the special needs of guests traveling in groups.
Castles, fortresses, manor houses and monasteries – the offer is colorful and diversified. Consequentially the possibilities for experiences along the Castle Road are manifold: from festive music and entertainment in stately rooms via dreamy moments in enchanting ambience until heroic stories in history-laden walls. Inside the sales catalogue we present five very different tips for traveling along the castle road. Also put together in the catalogue: all the information about the member organizations as event locations, their guided tours, available gastronomy and possibilities for overnight stays.
Castle Road Quiz
In order to make especially interesting knowledge about the cultural heritage easily transferable we developed a quiz in German/Slovenian. A total of 114 questions touches overall topics as well as specific points of each member organization. Main target group for the quiz are those employees who are in daily contact with visiting guests in the regions Styria, Southern Burgenland and Slovenia. After successfully completing the quiz (at least 80% correct) participants are awarded a certificate as expert for the route in question.
